PAUL DIVER RETIRES!
There were rumours in the past weeks that Paul "the Loser" Diver was not going to return to the ring any more. After the celebrated champion got dethroned on Easter Monday in an event-rich fight, a fabulous boxing career broke off. This morning Paul came out of his cave and held an off-the-cuff press conference about his future:
"Dear Fans all around the world!
I'm not a good public speaker - my world is the ring, and there is no room for words, especially when you're lying unconsciously on the floor. When I snatched the journeyman world championship title from the legendary Sam Fragile in January, my long-standing dream came true. I had a marvellous childhood, because my classmates in primary school hurt me regularly. I enjoyed full support from my family as well: both mom and dad beat me up on a daily basis. All the circumstances were favourable to me so there was a straight way to the top. I really felt that I was the most beatable person of the planet. When I almost beat OneTesticle19 to death, it all collapsed. Something inside me missed and I'm not the same man today. So now I would like to announce my official retirement. As far as my future is concerned, it's not clear yet. The Global CEO position at GE is not that bad for the time being, but I am not the weakest among these white-collar guys, which doesn't help my mental recovery. Best wishes to everybody and let the new era begin!"
With Paul's retirement, Team Diver has no more work to do. This is - probably - the last update on this site, but the priceless news pages will not be removed. If you want to get inspiration and motivation in a hard period of your life, return to us any time and take power from Paul's fabulous path of life! Our most devoted readers came from the message boards of: Boxingscene.com, Maxboxing.com, Getbig.com, Doghouseboxing.com, Eastsideboxing.com, Saddoboxing.com and Boxingaddicts.com. (21-04-2005) (47)
Money problems?
During the last couple of months Paul "the Loser" Diver was making his way towards the biggest payday in the history of tomato can boxing, but OneTesticle19, the young enthusiastic hacker has upset his plans. One or two title defences and the former champ could have been on the top of the world in terms of earnings as well. Today, however, the talented boxer seems to struggle with financial problems. Ultrasuper Nutrition Inc. - the producer of Fat Gainer 90 (TM) - has recently suspended its support, autographed poster sales are not doing well, and as of today there is no comeback fight on the horizon. This morning we received a saddening photo, which confirmed our suspicions that Paul was compelled to find a civilian work (click on the thumbnail below). We truly hope that this is just temporary and our hero will get back into the groove soon! (12-04-2005) (46)
Diver: "I was Victoria Beckham's Lover!"
In an exclusive interview given
yesterday to British daily "The Sun", former tomato can
champ Paul Diver claimed that he had had a secret love affair
with the wife of the world's most popular soccer player! Diver
said: "It all started after I snatched the WJC world
championship title from Sam Fragile. Vic started to flirt with me
at the after party. Later on our relationship got more and more
serious. I know my rising star impressed her. She nursed my
injuries after Fabrizio Hippo almost killed me in the ring. I had
my head in the clouds, she was feeding me with promises that she
was going to break with Beckham. But when I knocked out the guy
in the jail it all collapsed! She threw me over via an SMS saying
that she couldn't imagine her future with a fallen man. Then I
decided to pour my heart out to the press."
Through the family's spokesman Mrs. Beckham stated: "God,
this is pure fabrication! We only had a one-night stand and I
just tried to use him! I wanted to get his sperm and make myself
pregnant! I love David so much, but he's not as gifted
genetically as Paul - I wanted my next kid to be like him! But
unfortunately he didn't have a boner that night. He was just
boasting about his childhood-poems while I did my job..." (07-04-2005)

Diver's Downfall - Worldwide Press Reaction
Corriere dello Sport
(Italy):
"This is a great satisfaction to Italy, after our national
tomato can hero Fabrizio 'the Italian Fatass' Hippo was robbed
against Diver in February. The referee favored Diver in the
OneTesticle fight as well - he counted to 34 and poked the
unconscious hacker to get up but didn't succeed!"
Sky Sports (UK):
"This fiasco showed that Diver is not God, but also a human
being, who can make mistakes on a bad day. It was sorrowful to
see his face when he smashed the opponent's cheek-bone."
BBC Sport (UK):
"Diver is undoubtedly the biggest personality of the British
sport. If OneTesticle19 ever recovers, it would be right and
proper if he granted Diver a rematch!"
Sports Illustrated (USA):
"The Diver bandwagon has lost its wheels - again an
overrated Great White Hope who was hyped by the media. He should
retire."
Fox Sports (USA):
"Diver is definitely past his prime. He flashed his natural
talent for moments, but his glorious slowness and vulnerability
seems to be fading."

Diver speaks out!
Yesterday evening an idol tumbled
down... Paul "the Loser" Diver has suffered his first
win as a pro and a fabulous career may come to an end. Yes, we
all know that circumstances were not the same and the fight took
place at short notice, but this cannot be an excuse when you are
the number one tomato can boxer of the world.
This morning Paul was released from jail. Team Diver's darkened
limo was waiting for him at the exit and we drove the miserable
boxer straight to our headquarters. We tried to avoid press hype
- we wanted to talk to the former champ in a friendly and
intimate atmosphere:
Q: What the hell did you
do?!
P.D.: Er... I just wanted to dazzle the public, I wanted
to put up a good show! That hacker didn't seem to be dangerous!
Q: But who allowed you to
hit that man?!
P.D.: I know... I just wanted to impress the inmates...
It was an unlucky punch. Once again, I thought this was going to
be an easy tune-up fight!
Q: Why didn't you respond
to Larry Merchant?! You looked really dumb and put our team to
shame!
P.D.: I was not prepared for such a situation! I got
confused! ... Was it televised?
Q: Of course! You came out
of jail, but lost your title. How are you feeling now and what
are your future plans?
P.D.: I feel emptiness. I can't believe this happened to
me. I want to watch the fight again on video and draw the
conclusions. Obviously I want a rematch with OneTesticle and
regain my title!
Q: Do you really think
that you'll get another chance to conquer the division?
P.D.: Yes because people definitely want to see
Paul Diver in the ring! They simply get excited when hearing this
name! Isn't it so?
Q: We'll see, Paul. Thanks
for the interview and we wish you a quick comeback!
P.D.: Thank you Daddy...

BREAKING NEWS: Paul Diver dethroned!
In probably the biggest upset of the century Paul "the Loser" Diver lost his WJC world champion title some minutes ago after mercilessy knocking out OneTesticle19 in an action-packed 1-round bout! The exciting fight took place in Britain's toughest prison, where Diver is nearing the end of his 14-day sentence and agreed to hazard his WJC belt and fight a rival inmate! Both fighters started cautiously but Diver seemed to be a bit rash and overconfident. He may have felt that he was firmly in the saddle and started to play with his opponent. In two seconds, the scraggy hacker was knocked down with a brutal right hand and the fight was over. That's for now, but more to come - we have things to discuss! In the meantime, CLICK HERE for the exclusive photo gallery of the shocking fight! (28-03-2005) (42)
Diver vs. OneTesticle19 is on!

Only a bit more than one month
passed since Paul "the Loser" Diver successfully
defended his journeyman world championship title, but he will
have to hold on again at short notice in an unexpected
prison-fight! Yes, the two determined inmates have
finally agreed to clash! No training camp, no
professional trainers, no nutritionists, and no game plan...
There are only few things the reigning Champ can rely on:
experience, self-confidence, and his very famous LOSING INSTINCT!
As far as the opponent is concerned... well, we don't know too
much about him. OneTesticle19 is a computer genius, a great
brain, a feared hacker - he was imprisoned due to downloading his
sister's home video, who lived in the room next door. He has been
in jail for 8 months and he was thrashed countless times.
According to inmates, he has never put up any resistance. He's
the most antipathetic guy in the jug. He possesses many
characteristics of a loser boxer: no muscle tissues, glass bones,
very thick spectacles, and zero stamina.
The World Journeyman Council (WJC) has recently okayed
the fight, which is scheduled to Easter Monday (28 March) and
will be the part of the all-day jail celebrations. The
fighters have only two days to prepare mentally and physically,
so we can expect a very exciting battle! Of course Diver is the
absolute favourite for losing, but the unusual circumstances
might give the hacker some chance. Stay tuned and follow the
developments! (26-03-2005) (41)
A big fight shaping up?
According to an anonymous
informer, the tension is continually growing in the prison
between Paul "the Loser" Diver and OneTesticle19
- the young pimply hacker. Our source revealed: "OT19 is
definitely playing with the fire... Some inmates heard him
bashing Diver, while the Champ was in a distant wing. He may have
overheard it anyway! On another occasion Paul told me sincerely
that he smelled blood! His own blood of course, because he was
sure, sooner or later the computer geek would execute him!"
On hearing the news Team Diver contacted WJC immediately and
inquired if the renowned organization sanctioned the possible
fight! We've also entered into negotiations with TV channels,
which would broadcast the event! Diver has 6 more days in the
jail, so the parties have to agree on the terms as soon as
possible! (24-03-2005) (40)
Paul Diver Q&A in jail!
Paul "the Loser" Diver
has already served more than 1/3rd of his sentence in Britain's
toughest prison, so we were certain he had got a lot to say! This
morning Team Diver got the exclusive opportunity to talk to the
Champ at the visiting hours, so we are the first to inform you
about the hard times!
Q: Well... Paul, you look good, how are you doing?
P.D.: Thanks, fine, I'm in perfect shape, I had
probably the best training camp ev...
Q: No-no-no, stop... Paul, it's not the usual Fightnews
marketing interview - I'm Dave, don't you remember me?!
P.D.: Er... yeah, okay. Sorry dude, but 5 days
is a very long time...
Q: All right. So, Champ, how do your days pass in here?
P.D.: Good, really, this place is better than I
expected! I have a voluntary servant for example, a big badass
mofo, my cellmate. He cleans up, makes me the bed, gets free
food, booze, skank...
Q: Okay-okay, I get it! So you say the inmates know who's
the boss!
P.D.: Exactly! You know, maybe it's my charisma,
my style... And of course they acknowledge my achievements in
boxing. No provocations at all! Most of them could destroy me
easily - absolutely no challenge to me and they know this!
Q: You say "most of them"... What about the
rest?
P.D.: Hm... Well, for example there is that
skinny guy in Sector "C", a computer pirate or hacker,
whatever. He is aged 19 as I know, he's got specs with eleven
diopter lens and oily hair. Yesterday we had eye contact for a
moment in the canteen and I was overcome by the same feeling as
before a big fight! You know, contest fever! I know it wouldn't
be fair to fight a civilian when you're the undisputed world
champion, but you know, the JAIL HAS ITS OWN LAW! I have to hold
my reputation, so if he wants to fight me one day I won't duck
him!
Q: I'm sure the fans would be happy with it! Our time is
up, we wish you the best Paul!
P.D.: Thanks bro! (Oh, could you tell my Mom to bring in my WJC
belt - the mates would love it!)
(22-03-2005) (39)
Exclusive photos straight from the prison!
Thanks to a corrupt jailer (a secret Diver fan...) we've just received two illegal, but highly precious photos about the unfairly convicted tomato can champion! It would be a sin to miss them, so click on the thumbnails now! (19-03-2005) (38)
NEWSFLASH: Diver gets respect in jail!
Among exaggerated security circumstances Paul "the Loser" Diver has recently been transported to Britain's toughest prison, Belmarsh to serve his 14-day term. Inside and outside the jail the vast majority of the people are convinced that the Champ is innocent and it's Don King's intrigue behind! When entered, the hundreds of inmates cheered Diver and gave him the respect he deserves. You may know the feeling: it's respect mixed with FEAR... The tough guys know, if they beat Diver up that wouldn't prove anything, it would only strengthen the Champ's fame - and if Diver beats them: how humiliating! Nevertheless, there must be some unfortunate losers who are doing the time, and Paul should keep his eyes on them. He has to expect insults, provocations from these guys, who may want to get beaten and unofficially dethrone the legend. As soon as we get the chance to talk to Paul at the visiting hours, we are going to inform you - stay tuned! (18-03-2005) (37)
SHOCK: Diver found guilty!
One day after the National Crime Squad arrested Paul Diver in an illustrious hotel of London, the British athlete was immediately brought to trial and found guilty of assault! The court sentenced Diver to 14 days in jail, which had to be started right after the judgement. The members of the pensioner choir unanimously claimed that the defendant broke the old man's hand intentionally, although the x-ray didn't show any injuries. Diver's lawyer commented: "My client is innocent, no doubt about it! This is a discredit campaign against him, we will prove that he is unable to hurt anybody, because he is the legitimate, undisputed, universally recognized journeyman boxing champion of the world! Thank you for all the fans, who are sitting up for him at the entrance of the prison!". Click on the thumbnail below to see the Champ in trouble! (16-03-2005) (36)
BREAKING NEWS: Diver arrested!

It has just been reported from London that Paul "the Loser" Diver was arrested on assault charges some hours ago. Previously, an agitated male voice called the police from the Park Lane Sheraton Hotel claiming that the famous tomato can champion had hurt him. The caller was a 74-year-old gentleman, a member of the pensioner choir, which was staying in the hotel. To the inquiry of the press the handcuffed celebrity said: "Nonsense! Some people definitely want to stain my honour and ruin my career! This is not new to me, I know I'm in many people's way! They try to make the public believe that I am not beatable, but I will clear myself! This old man accosted me for an autograph and claims that I crushed his hand when I politely shaked it! What an ungrateful fella! I'm sure I fell into a trap and I suspect Don King in the background!"
Stay tuned, we will keep you informed on the developments! (14-03-2005) (35)
"MTV Cribs" visits Paul Diver!
According to a recent survey Paul Diver is not "only" the most successful athlete in Britain, but he's now the hottest celebrity of the Isles. The Champ's life is no more a private thing - people want to know the man behind the sportsman, they want to know how their idol lives, how he feels. Last weekend Music Television's "Cribs" made a visit at the tomato can superstar, so the millions of fans can finally see his fabulous lifestyle! MTV will televise the show in April, but in the meantime we publish some exclusive screen captures from the 5-hour footage HERE! (courtesy of MTV) (07-03-2005) (34)
EXPERT'S COLUMN: State of journeyman boxing
Last month Paul "the Loser" Diver strengthened his position as the universally recognized, undisputed journeyman champion of the world. After losing to long-reigning champion Sam Fragile in January, then getting a serious beating from Fabrizio Hippo in February, Diver became the absolute autocrat of the division. The question may arise: is this good for boxing fans all around the world? We all know that people want drama, people want conflict, which would fail to come about without dangerous contenders. But is the tomato can division really so tedious? We don't think so! Last year we saw many new prospects appearing on the horizon - we saw old-school boxers, who seemed to have an eye to Diver's division. Roy Jones Jr., Wladimir Klitschko - just to name some. These men are climbing higher and higher at WJC (World Journeyman Council) and sooner or later they will have the chance to fight the British champion. And in the meantime there are some top ranked guys, who might possibly endanger Diver's domination, for example:
Timothy
Cane, USA (1-8-0)
In his civilian life, Cane is an office clerk at a municipality
in the State of Kansas. He joined the local community center's
boxing course in 2000, after he saw the movie "Fight
Club" on VHS. He was the first and only adult in the group.
Within one month, all the kids (around 8-10 year-old each) beat
him up in and in-house tournament. The clever coach advised Cane
to leave and start a professional tomato can career. Today, he is
ranked No. 1 at WJC with a nice record of 1-8-0 (He has suffered
his only win to former king Sam Fragile). We think that Diver and
Cane could present us with an exciting fight.
Boris
Crapov, Russia (2-15-0)
Crapov holds the less prestigious, but still widely known WJA
title. He had two wins at the beginning of his career, which
shows that he is not 100% beatable. Crapov is not considered as a
very dangerous opponent, and his fights are ugly, boring and
unpopular. He usually kills the fights by clinching, grabbing and
hanging on his opponent, while trying to get invisibly
headbutted. This is probably not the fight people want to see,
but the unification of the WJC and WJA titles would considerably
strengthen Diver's fame.
Trevon
Chump, USA (0-11-0)
Chump is basically a "bad guy" from the ghetto - he
grew up in the streets of south central Los Angeles. He's an
offensive minded thug, and is convinced that old-school boxing is
in his genes. Notwithstanding, he has never been able to come out
on top in a fight, because he has a glass fist. After seven
consecutive losses as a pro, his management persuaded him to make
an attempt in a WJC sanctioned fight. To date, he was defeated by
four tomato can boxers - Chump was TKOed on all occasions due to
fist injuries. Now he is ranked No. 2 at the highly respected
organization! (03-03-2005) (33)
Site Popularity Poll: Results!
Our worldwide poll has just been officially closed. The vast majority of our voters (72%) thought that Paul "the Loser" Diver's official web site is absolutely, definitely bad and unfunny. Getting enthusiastic about the result, we are going to proceed on our way with renewed strength! Thank you everybody for all the support - not only the votes, but the hundreds of bashing e-mails we have received! Come back soon, we will keep up the bad work! (02-03-2005) (32)
NEWSFLASH: Diver to star in "Rocky VI"!
This morning Team Diver received a fax from Sylvester Stallone, in which the Hollywood veteran invited Paul "the Loser" Diver to play the role of his big rival in the 6th part of the legendary movie series. We proudly publish the letter to our readers (Attention: **SPOILERS below**):
"Dear Mr. Diver,
I was amazed by your recent
performance in Los Angeles, and I decided to turn to you with an
offer. I'm working hard on Rocky VI, I've written an outstanding
and astonishing screenplay and now we're in the casting phase. At
the end of the new movie I (Rocky) will have my last, but biggest
fight of my life and I will gain a glorious victory. To make the
fight realistic, we don't want to employ stunts or use special
effects, but I want to beat up someone in reality. When I saw you
collapsing in Staples Center, I knew you are the man! At my time
of life I can't risk, I'm not sure I could beat anyone else. If
you wish to take the opportunity to play in a certain box-office
hit, please don't hesitate to contact my management to negotiate
the details!
Best wishes, Sly." (26-02-2005) (31)
BREAKING NEWS: Hippo accuses Diver of drug use!
Some days after Fabrizio Hippo
failed to dethrone Paul "the Loser" Diver, he spoke to
Italian daily "Corriere dello Sport" and tried to stain
the honour of the undisputed journeyman champion. In the short
interview Hippo stated (translated from Italian):
"My team is convinced that Paul Diver lost the fight last
Saturday by unfair means. We have a strong suspicion that my
opponent used catabolic steroids during his training, which
helped him to break down muscle tissue and get into top-shape! I
simply can't believe that he ate nothing else, only those Fat
Gainer 90 shakes. To be honest, I have also tried that product,
but didn't take effect... It's bullshit! To make things clear, we
intend to take legal proceedings!"
In its response Team Diver stated: "There is nothing to
investigate, because the Champ successfully passed the drug test
right after the battle. As far as his unbelievable physical
condition is concerned, every serious boxing expert knows that
Paul is a genetic freak, which is combined with a superior work
ethic. Talent and skill is not enough in this business! Mr. Hippo
should finally accept the situation and move on!" (24-02-2005)

UPDATE: Diver-Hippo photo gallery!
As the Champ is under hospital observation and the disappointed Hippo left L.A. right after the fiasco, the post-fight press conference had to be cancelled. We have, however, uploaded some exclusive photos from the unforgettable night - click here to proceed! (22-02-2005) (29)
"And still...!" - Diver KOed in 1!
It was not the surprise of the century, Paul "the Loser" Diver easily defended his WJC title yesterday evening in front of thousands of boxing fans in Staples Center, Los Angeles. Remembering the scandalous weight-in, the huge crowd booed Fabrizio "the Italian Ass" Hippo, when the out of shape contender entered the ring. On the other hand, Diver, the reigning champion got a standing ovation from the audience when showing up!
As expected, when the bell rang the deranged Italian attacked Diver with brutal power punches and gave him a serious beating (when collapsing, Diver roared "D-GenerationX", that is the name of the lucky winner of our Lifetime Opportunity Competition from Boxinginsider.com). Diver's corner threw in the towel in ecstasy at 0:12 of round 1 and started to celebrate the defeat! Hippo walked to his corner deeply dispirited and got booed again owing to his disgraceful performace. However, when the Champ regained consciousness, Hippo went up to him and congratulated in a sportsmanlike way, which brought on a thunderous applause! Let's see what the two fighters had got to say to Larry Merchant:
Diver: "This is an important defeat with a view to my future, but the fight itself was too easy, and it may have disappointed the fans. Fab is a talented guy, but I still think that he didn't deserved this title shot. I was simply too much for him! People may say that he was totally out of shape and deconcentrated, but I tell you something: deep inside he couldn't make himself believe that he was able to lose, which ruined him mentally and physically! He will need lots of months to recover!"
Hippo: "I think I was robbed!! My body was cold in the first round, I couldn't warm up properly, but if they hadn't stopped the fight, Diver would've knocked me out later on! He was definitely deteriorating! I must admit that Paul did a good work, he's a big athlete, he deserves to be on the top, but our business is still unsettled! Anyway, hitting the man was not a bad feeling... Maybe I should try myself in old-school boxing... there was that guy in the ring right before us... Hepkins or Hapkins, whatever... I'm gonna take on him."
The photo gallery of the big fight will be uploaded soon, stay tuned! (20-02-2005) (28)
Diver-Hippo weight-in and presser: SHOCKING!
The countdown has just begun to
the night, when Paul "the Loser" Diver steps into the
ring and tries to make history! The official weight-in for
tomorrow's mega fight ended two hours ago, but we are still
shocked...
As usual, Paul Diver showed up in perfect shape, fatter than
ever, with rings round his eyes. On the other hand, Fabrizio
Hippo - the B-level tomato can, who all of a sudden got a
lifetime opportunity to fight for a world title - appeared
totally out of shape, being unworthy to even shake hands with the
reigning Champ! Click here, the pictures speak for themselves... /To see Hippo's usual shape, scroll down
to article No. (11)/
After the shameful weight-in - not surprisingly - Hippo became
the number one target of the press. Click here

The fighters are in town!
This morning both fighters arrived in Los Angeles safe and sound. Diver and his team came straight from Moscow, two hours later a plane departing from London landed with his excited mother on board: "My son has left his piles cream behind!" - she explained to the international press. The official weight-in will take place soon, we'll keep you informed! (18-02-2005) (26)
Camp Diver, Moscow (Final Part) - Diver checks out
This morning Paul
Diver's training camp came to an end in Russia. During the past
weeks everything was going well and we can proudly say that the
Champ is in his best shape ever and ready to lose. You can say
that it's too nice to be true, and unfortunately you're right:
When checking out from the hotel room, Team Diver was
unexpectedly charged USD 1300 for Pay-TV. Paul's generous
sponsor, the manufacturer of Fat Gainer 90 (TM) has granted a
large amount for the trip, but Team Diver ran out of budget and
couldn't pay the extra cost in cash. In order to terminate the
embarrassing situation (there were a number of Russian fans in
the lounge), Paul was compelled to present his golden Rolex to
the CEO of the hotel. Afterwards, the always-bright Champ felt
important to give his fans a clear explanation:
"My Friends!
I must admit that I switched to the porn channel a few times by
accident... Okay, one evening I fell asleep during some gangbang
scene, so I stayed there for hours... But after all, what if I
watched it all day long?! I mean, why do they charge for it?!
It's the only way for me to see undressed ladies! Hey, I bought
that watch in Thailand for USD 5000!"
Next event: the official weight-in and press conference on Friday, stay tuned! (16-02-2005) (25)
Diver-Hippo Poster!
Next Saturday Paul "the Loser" Diver is going to face his past and try to avenge the one and only win of his boxing career (Diver suffered the victory among the amateurs). Although Fabrizio Hippo is not the number one contender, Diver agreed to fight the "Italian Fatass" in order to reduce him to silence. The following week events will speed up! Both men will close their training camps and fly to Los Angeles for the pre-fight press conference, the official weight-in and the big battle. Click the thumbnail below and take a look at the official poster! (13-02-2005) (24)
BREAKING NEWS: Hippo tattooed!

We have received a large number of e-mails from our readers criticizing that we do not cover the training of Fabrizio Hippo for the biggest fight of his life. Well, the simple reason for this is that the Italian Fatass is training behind closed doors in his Sicilian home and nothing has leaked out till now. Today, however, we received a fresh photo from an anonymous paparazzo, which shows that the erratic journeyman got a hippopotamus tattoo around his right eye 10 days before his title fight against Paul "the Loser" Diver! Everyone knows that a tattoo can take up to 3 weeks to properly heal, which means that Hippo will expect to be hit on the face and hopes that the fight will be stopped on cuts. Team Diver thinks that this is an unfair game plan but doesn't want to take legal proceedings. The Champ himself commented: "He [Hippo] is a cheeky, arrogant guy on the surface, but he is actually afraid of me. That's why he resorts to tricks like this. But I think he still doesn't know who is his opponent..." (09-02-2005) (23)
Compubox forecast: Diver-Hippo
Compubox Inc. has refused to predict the outcome of the upcoming fight, as there were no usable historical statistics in their sophisticated database. According to the company, Diver (0-13-0) and Hippo (0-6-0) have never thrown any punches or jabs during their pro career, which were recognized and recorded by the Compubox system. We can't wait to see if the ice will be broken on 19 February, there are only two weeks out! (05-02-2005) (22)
Camp Diver, Moscow (Part 3) - Diver deserved a short break
Paul has been staying
in training camp for almost two weeks and had no time to take a
breath till now. Earlier today, appreciating Paul's hard work his
trainer/father made a strategic decision to grant the Champ a
little break when he could forget Hippo, the coming battle, the
pressure, and let off some steam. "This was essential to
keep him strong mentally" - the qualified trainer explained.
So, this morning father and son made a visit to "Drago
Gym", the biggest place in Moscow for old-school boxers.
Paul was looking around, talked to guys, asked questions; he
seemed to be happy, well-balanced, and relaxed. Right after they
came out of the building we asked Paul how he was feeling:
"Thanks, I feel very good, it was an interesting experience,
I could get away from my job for a moment. On the other hand it
was quite strange as well... I mean this is an odd subculture,
seeing these weirdos was a bit worrying. Of course I knew that
such places exist, but when you see it with your own eyes... It
was like a sect or something... Anyway, being open to new things
is very important. But now I already miss my hotel room, I wanna
go back and resume training!"

circumstances! (03-02-2005) (21)
NEWS FLASH: Lewis gives advices
It's not the first time Lennox Lewis explicitly favours a boxer and gives him advices. Yesterday, Paul "the Loser" Diver received an unexpected phone call from the retired pugilist specialist in his hotel room in Moscow. Paul was deeply touched by the noble act. Paul is training brutally hard 24 hours per day for the Hippo fight, but he got so excited from the phone call that he found time to tell us what happened: "Well, I was peacefully sitting on the toilet and looking for pictures in a Russian newspaper when the phone rang. I quickly finished so I could answer the phone in good time. It was Lennox himself speaking, he wanted to share his experiences gained from the first McCall and Rahman fights. He told me that in his view, Hippo is a quick starter, he's very dangerous in the first 2 rounds, but later on he is more and more willing to punch. Keeping this in mind I will be extra cautious not to hurt him at the beginning, and if we survive the first rounds, I'm sure he will destroy me!" (01-02-2005) (20)

Fragile speaks out!
Former long-reigning undisputed journeyman champ Sam Fragile (1-47-1) held a press conference yesterday in order to end all the rumours regarding his future. The atmosphere was sorrowful, heart breaking, but nobody was really surprised. Here are the words of the living legend:

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I
would like to announce officially that the heroic battle on the
1st of January between me and Paul Diver was the last fight of my
beautiful career. Some days after the fight I felt that I still
had the drive and motivation to go on and regain my reputation,
but later on my family and my friends convinced me that I had
nothing to prove. I had a very nice career: I've lost 47 fights,
I've agonized on the fine canvases of Las Vegas, L.A., Miami, New
York and many other cities, and I have millions of fans all
around the world. I've completed my legacy and I hope that I'll
be remembered as an all time great. It's also thanks to boxing
that I got to know my wife! She's a ring doctor, who saved my
life many-many times. I asked for her hand in the ambulance after
Jimmy Retard knocked me out in 1997. I have no interest in
fighting anymore; I know there's life beyond boxing. I make no
secret, I want to go to the movie business. Hollywood needs
actors, who can be beaten. My greatest idol and role model is Riccardo Pizzuti from the Bud Spencer-Terence Hill movies,
if you remember.
I wish Paul and all the young prospects out there a similarly
beautiful career, let the new era begin!" (18-01-2005) (13)
What's next for Paul Diver?
On the first day of the year, Paul "the Loser" Diver became the linear, undisputed, universally recognized WJC journeyman champion of the world. Since then, he has also become a very busy man: among others he gave interviews to popular magazines, he appeared in TV shows, he signed an ad contract and had a number of photo shoots. But now that the hype is a bit over, it is time to think about the future. Accordingly, we have reviewed some potential contenders for Paul's first defence of the WJC title, and tried to predict the outcome of those fights. CLICK HERE for the full article! (15-01-2005) (12)
An open letter from Fabrizio Hippo...
Without any comment, we publish an open letter received today:

"Hi Paul, I'm Fabrizio Hippo, "the Italian Fatass", I'm sure you remember me... 2001, European Championship, Hamburg, Germany. We were both amaterurs. And you beat me, what's more, you knocked me down! No need to deny, my mom recorded it on video. Yeah-yeah, I'm here. Since then, I turned pro as well. People think you have a flawless record. It's true if we disregard your amaterur past. You say that you are the Man, but deep down inside you know that you've got an unsettled business with someone. Me. What I want? Of course a title shot, because I deserve it. Forget the rematch with Fragile, the guy is the past! In some days my team is going to make you an offer. If you think you're the best, accept it!
Grazie, Fabrizio." (13-01-2005) (11)
Diver succeeds outside the ring!

Paul Diver has proved that he is ready to lose even if he is not prepared! Yesterday evening the Champ was seriously beaten up in a pub. We had a conference call with Paul and asked him to tell the story. Here is what happened in his own words: "Yeah, so I went down to this local pub to drink a bottle of whisky, which is the part of my strict diet even in the off-season. There was this drunken guy - as far as I know a senior financial analyst - who recognized me and started to provoke. He told that no way he could beat me. As a professional athlete I know that I should avoid any situations like this, because the scrawny guy simply had no chance against me, which was not fair. But you know, I had no choice but to fight him, cos I'm the Champ! In a word, the guy beat me up and was very-very surprised. I mean, he told me afterwards that he feared for my life." Diver signs ad contract with Ultrasuper Nutrition!

One week after Paul "the Loser" Diver became the best tomato can boxer in the world, he signed a long-term advertising contract with Ultrasuper Nutrition Inc., the market leader producer of high-tech nutritional supplements. Here are the words of Steven Wallace, CEO of USN Inc. from the ceremonial signing: "It is a great honour for us that Paul will be the new face of Ultrasuper Nutrition! We hope that our unique fattener products will make his training more professional and he will defend his title many-many times!"
In reply, Paul was concentrating and said: "...aaa....As the best.....aaaa.... I have to eat the....aaa..... best! Yes...(was it okay, Steve?)" (08-01-2005) (9)
England welcomes the Champ!

After the weekend triumph, Paul "the Loser" Diver returned home from Las Vegas. At Heathrow hundreds of fans - mainly accountants, clerks, and computer programmers - were waiting for their hero. The crowd went into ecstasy when Paul showed up, which drew tears from his eyes. Being touched, Britain's new star made an off-the-cuff speech to his fans:
"Thank you everybody!"
